Morag the Magpie
Morag is a magpie girl. Part magpie and part girl. She is very clever…. not the most chatty but always friendly and polite. Reading and learning are her most favourite things! Sadly, Morag’s parents passed away just after she had hatched. So she now lives with a family of adopted Rabbits in a big burrow, deep in the woods.
Intrigued by magpies beautiful feathers, I first created Morag as part of a story installation during lockdown. I explored the theme of differences in families through a self authored piece in which Morag discoverers her magpie heritage whilst embracing her differences. Along the way she seeks advice from Grandma Rabbit and befriends a little worm.
